About Me

Horses have always been a huge part of my life. I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t passionate about horses. I started riding at my local riding school at the age of ten. I lived for my Saturdays. After a couple of years I began working for my rides – I remember stacking bales of straw with my sister for a whole day to earn a day ride and picnic. Was it worth the blisters? Absolutely!

Malaysia

I was living in Malaysia, running an architectural practice with my husband and riding ex race horses and polo ponies every day before work. This was where I really learnt to ride and enjoyed training for dressage & show jumping competitions.

Endurance Riding

I returned to the UK after 18 years away as the children were ready to attend university. I continued working in design and took up Endurance Riding at the weekends. My first competition was a 20 miler and I had a grin from ear to ear for the whole day and the following week!!!  It was a few years before I could buy my first Arab horse but it was worth the wait. What fun we had during our 17 years together. Saroukh, sadly passed away at 29 years old, but we had built memories and a great partnership based on mutual trust and respect.

Quantocks

In my “Senior Years” I made a few “changes”
I remarried and moved to the beautiful Quantock Hills in Somerset

Dreams do come true!

I had always dreamt of working with horses and qualified as an Equine CranioSacral Therapist with Maureen Rogers  www.equinecraniotherapy.com

During HH Therapy sessions I often include Acupressure and Myofascia Release Techniques when appropriate.

I constantly draw on my many years of experience with horses and my former design training has given me “a good eye” when assessing the horse.
